There's something to be said for Kitchen Table Wisdom - you know, like in the old days when people sat around the kitchen table after a meal and talked about life, the universe and the meaning of it all - as well as the gossip doing the rounds in town...

Well, that's what this place is - a place to share common wisdom, thoughts and feelings about things important and unimportant, that bring us joy, laughter and happiness and that trouble, sadden, confuse and anger us ...

What I write here is what's 'real' for me. It won't always be PC or 'nice'. We're missing out on true connection and chances to grow and change because there's too little authenticity, too little honesty, too much holding back what we really feel and mean.

Welcome to my world...

I used to have a copyright claim here, but I've removed it...

Ideas don't belong to anyone -

they come to those who are receptive and are to be used for the well being of all...

I find images and movies and music all over the web

and I use them to accent/expand on my thoughts and understandings...

NOW...

OK Creation...

You know the who's, the what's, the why's, the how's of everything that has led up to this time/place/situation...

"... So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened..."
~ Luke 11:9-12

NOW I'm asking...

... and NOW is a very good time for you to deliver (in whatever way you see fit!)...

... As Lesley used to say: "the place, the people, the resources we need, need us..."

Wiccan Prayer For Peace...

Lady of Peace who hears the cries of the world
Extend your power through me and with me;
Bless those in harms way.

Bless those who are suffering.

Bless those who are dying.

Bless the lost unknowing dead.

Bless those who love.

Bless those who are helping.

Bless those who are scared.

Bless those who can do nothing but wait.

Bless those who are falsely suspected.

Bless those of limited understanding.

Bless those upholding civil liberties.

Bless those who, though well intentioned, do wrong.

Bless the Ancestors
who love and hold us dear;
may we feel their comfort, too.

Bless those who work and pray for peace
throughout the good, green Mother Earth.

Bless us ALL and hold us safe within your embrace.

So Mote It Be!

~ Wiccan Prayer for Peace

Egyptian Book Of The Dead On Peace...

Let us rise up and greet the Sun

Let us wash our hearts with laughter

And rinse them with peace

And dry them with love

~ Egyptian Book Of The Dead

Native African Prayer For Peace...

Almighty God, the Great Thumb we cannot evade to tie any knot,

The Roaring Thunder that splits mighty trees,

The all-seeing Lord on high who sees even the foot prints of an antelope on a rock mass here on Earth,

You are the one who does not hesitate to respond to our call.

You are the cornerstone of peace.

~ Native African Prayer For Peace

Mayan Prayer For Peace...

From the North, House of Night
May Wisdom ripen in us
So we may know all from within

From the West, House of Transformation
May Wisdom be transformed into right action
So we may do what must be done

From the South, House of the Eternal Sun
May Right Action reap the harvest
So we may enjoy the fruits of planetary being

From Above, House of Heaven
Where star people and ancestors gather
May their Blessings come to us now

From Below, House of Earth
May the heartbeat of her crystal core
Bless us with Harmonies to end all war

From the Center, Galactic Source
Which is everywhere at once
May everything be known
as the light of mutual Love

Oh Yum Hunab Ku Evam Maya E Ma Ho

~ Mayan Prayer of the 7 Directions

Taoist Prayer For Peace...

If there is to be peace in the world,
There must be peace in the nations.

If there is to be peace in the nations,
There must be peace in the cities.

If there is to be peace in the cities,
There must be peace between neighbors.

If there is to be peace between neighbors,
There must be peace in the home.

If there is to be peace in the home,
There must be peace in the heart.

~ Lao-tsu's Prayer for Peace

Prayers From The Ojibway Nation...

We know that in all Creation,
Only the human family
Has Strayed from the Sacred Way.

We know that we are the ones who are divided;
And we are the ones who must come back together
To Walk in the Sacred Way.

Sacred One,
Teach us love, compassion, and honor;
That we may heal the earth
And heal each other.
~ Prayer of the Ojibway Nation

Oh, Great Spirit,
whose voice I hear in the winds,
and whose breath gives life
to all the world, hear me!

I come to you as one of your many
children;
I am weak...I am small...
I need your wisdom
and your strength.

Let me walk in beauty,
and make my eyes ever behold
the red and purple sunsets.

Make my hands respect
the things you have made,
and make my ears sharp
so I may hear your voice.

Make me wise
so I may understand
the things you have taught my people.

Let me learn
the lessons you have hidden
in every leaf and rock.

I ask for wisdom and strength
not to be greater than my brothers
and sisters, but to fight my greatest
enemy—myself.

Make me always ready
to come before you with clean hands
and a straight eye,
So as life fades away, as a fading sunset,
my spirit may come to you
without shame.

Maori Prayer For Peace...

Kia hora te Marino is an ancient Maori prayer spoken by seamen before a voyage.

LYRICS:

Kia hora te marino
kia whakapapa pounamu te moana
kia tere te karohirohi
i mua i tou huarahi
Haere e tama haere

“May Peace Be Widespread”

Let peace be widespread
Let the sea glisten like the greenstone
May your path be straight
Like the flight of the dove
Go in peace and with my blessings

Zoroastrian Prayer For Peace...

We pray to God to eradicate all the
misery in the world;

that understanding triumph
over ignorance,

that generosity triumph over indifference,

that trust triumph over contempt,

and that truth triumph over falsehood.

~ Zoroastrian Prayer for Peace

Jainist Prayer For Peace...

Peace and Universal Love is the essence
of the Gospel preached by all the
Enlightened Ones.

The Lord has preached that equanimity
is the Dharma.

Forgive do I creatures all,
and let all creatures forgive me.
Unto all have I amity, and unto none enmity.

Know that violence is the root cause of
all miseries in the world.
Violence, in fact, is the knot of bondage.

"Do not injure any living being."
This is the eternal, perennial, and unalterable
way of spiritual life.

A weapon howsoever powerful it may be,
can always be superseded by a superior one;
but no weapon can, however,
be superior to non-violence and love.

~ Jainist Prayer for Peace

Bahai' Prayer For Peace...

Be generous in prosperity,
and thankful in adversity.

Be fair in thy judgement,
and guarded in thy speech.

Be a lamp unto those who walk
in darkness, and a home
to the stranger.

Be eyes to the blind, and a guiding light
unto the feet of the erring.

Be a breath of life to the body of
humankind, a dew to the soil of
the human heart,
and a fruit upon the tree of humility.

~ Bahai' Prayer for Peace

Sikh Prayer For Peace...

God adjudges us according
to our deeds,
not the coat that we wear;
that truth is above everything,
but higher still is truthful living.

Know that we attaineth God when we loveth,
and only that victory endures
in consequences of which
no one is defeated.

~ Sikh Prayer for Peace

Jewish Prayer For Peace...

Come let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, that we may walk the paths of the most high.
And we shall beat our swords into ploughshares, and our spears into pruning hooks.
Nations shall not lift up sword against nation - neither shall they learn war any more.
And none shall be afraid, for the mouth of the Lord of Hosts has spoken.
~ Jewish Prayer for Peace

Native American Prayer For Peace...

 O Great Spirit of our
Ancestors, I raise
my pipe to you.

To your messengers the four winds, and
to Mother Earth who provides
for your children.

Give us the wisdom to teach our children
to love, to respect, and to be kind to each
other so that they may grow
with peace in mind.

Let us learn to share all good things that
you provide for us on this Earth.

~ Native American Prayer for Peace

Muslim Prayer For Peace...

In the name of Allah,
the beneficent, the merciful.

Praise be to the Lord of the
Universe who has created us and
made us into tribes and nations,
That we may know each other, not that
we may despise each other.

If the enemy incline towards peace, do
thou also incline towards peace, and
trust God, for the Lord is the one that
heareth and knoweth all things.

And the servants of God,
Most Gracious are those who walk on
the Earth in humility, and when we
address them, we say "PEACE."

 ~Muslim Prayer for Peace

Shinto Prayer For Peace...

Although the people living across the ocean surrounding us, I believe, are all our brothers and sisters, why are there constant troubles in this world?
Why do winds and waves rise in the ocean surrounding us?
I only earnestly wish that the wind will soon puff away all the clouds which are hanging over the tops of the mountains.

~ Shinto Prayer for Peace

Blessed Are The Peacemakers...

Blessed are the Peacemakers, for they shall be known as the Children of God.
But I say to you that hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.
To those who strike you on the cheek offer the other also, and from those who take away your cloak, do not withhold your coat as well.
Give to everyone who begs from you, and of those who take away your goods, do not ask them again.
And as you wish that others would to do you, do so to them.
~ Christian Prayer for Peace

Buddhist Prayer For Peace...

May all beings everywhere plagued with sufferings of body and mind quickly be freed from their illnesses.
May those frightened cease to be afraid and may those bound be free.
May the powerless find power, and may people think of befriending one another.
May those who find themselves in trackless, fearful wildernesses - the children, the aged, the unprotected - be guarded by beneficent celestials, and may they quickly attain Buddhahood.
~ Buddhist Prayer for Peace

All I Want For Christmas...

O Lord God Almighty -  may there be peace in celestial regions.
May there be peace on earth.
May the waters be appeasing.
May herbs be wholesome, and may trees and plants bring peace to all.
May all beneficent beings bring peace to us.
May thy Vedic Law propagate peace all through the world.

May all things be a source of peace to us.
And may thy peace itself bestow peace on all.
And may that peace come to me also.
~Hindu Prayer for Peace
May we all find deep compassion, love, joy and peace within ourselves, within our relationships and within the world...
If reconciliation and healing with self and others is what you wish for this year, may it be so...
May there be reconciliation and healing between humans,
between humans and all sentient life,
between humans and our mother, Gaia,
between humans and the Life Force...
And so it is...
Blessings Be
