There's something to be said for Kitchen Table Wisdom - you know, like in the old days when people sat around the kitchen table after a meal and talked about life, the universe and the meaning of it all - as well as the gossip doing the rounds in town...

Well, that's what this place is - a place to share common wisdom, thoughts and feelings about things important and unimportant, that bring us joy, laughter and happiness and that trouble, sadden, confuse and anger us ...

What I write here is what's 'real' for me. It won't always be PC or 'nice'. We're missing out on true connection and chances to grow and change because there's too little authenticity, too little honesty, too much holding back what we really feel and mean.

Welcome to my world...

I used to have a copyright claim here, but I've removed it...

Ideas don't belong to anyone -

they come to those who are receptive and are to be used for the well being of all...

I find images and movies and music all over the web

and I use them to accent/expand on my thoughts and understandings...

Home...

Dear Universe...

I'm grateful for having had this haven for these last months...

AND it's REALLY, REALLY REALLY time for us to move on... it's almost June 1st, Shawn is getting antsy, the teenage boy thing is revving up and we really need to settle in our own space with our stuff around us...

Which means there needs to be somewhere for us to go to, AND resources to make the move possible...

I've already put out intentions for the housing situation - what that looks like in terms of people and environment...

The economic and resources issues are next for consideration...

From my limited human perspective I can see several ways to bring that about:

Satisfying income-generating opportunities come my way, that make worthwhile use of my skills and talents, still leave me time and energy to be present with the boy AND bring sufficient cash and other resources for us to move AND to live well;

AND the judge decides that boy's father has to make a serious, generous, real-world contribution to the cost of raising and enriching the boy and the money part of that is enough to move AND pay the rent and other costs;

AND someone who has more than they need, chooses to share some of it with me and the boy, in a free, no-strings attached manner, so that I can continue and expand the social change work I've been doing in a joyous, care-free way...

AND some sort of windfall lands in my lap that takes care of our housing and living requirements...

I don't care which solution manifests - whether it's one, some, or all of these options combined, or something completely different ... Just BRING IT ON!

Thank you

Namaste

Give What You Can...

Dear My-Version-Of-The-Sacred...

IF it's my role at this time in history to keep being a conduit for information a la what I've been doing over the past couple of years...

THEN you need to bring me income and resources so that I can continue to do that AND house, feed, clothe, educate, transport the boy and myself...

That's the Law of the Sacred Circle, isn't it?

So, how about it?

AND...
IF anyone has more than enough for themselves,

AND has the desire to see change happen in the world,

AND doesn't have the time or skills to contribute to that effort,

AND wants to support someone else who IS qualified
and DOES have the time,

THEN I would be delighted to consider a
no-strings, no-editorial control, patronage arrangement...

What's the Story, Morning Glory?

In the Victorian meaning of flowers, morning glory signifies love, affection or mortality.
The flowers blossom in the morning and die by afternoon or nightfall, making them representative of the sometimes fleeting nature of affection, and of unrequited love.
But the vine produces new flowers every day during its growth season, representing the renewable nature of love.

Images of morning glory vines can be found on Victorian headstones, symbolizing mortality, mourning, the shortness of life or the hope of resurrection
The star-shaped flower is also symbolic of a single day each year in which the Chinese lovers, Chien Niu and Chih Neu, are allowed to meet.
According to Chinese lore, Chien Niu was a boy star who was entrusted to take care of water buffalo in the heavenly kingdom.
A girl star named Chih Neu was put in charge of seamstress duties.
They fell in love, and the romance caused them to neglect their duties.
In anger, the gods forced the young lovers to be separated on both sides of the Silver River and allowed them to meet only once during the whole year.
Am having a hard job settling to work I promised to complete...
Feeling antsy... restless...unrequited! (not in love, but in life!)
Easy-peasey writing job, promising plentiful greenbacks, need the moolah,
Heart's not in it...
What does that say?
Self sabotage?
Can beggars be choosers?
Can I convince myself that 'the ends justify the means'?
Or is it time to 'walk the talk' some more and say "yes" only to things that make my heart sing?

Follow the path with heart?

LYRICS:
All your dreams are made
When you're chained to (your) mirror with (your) razor blade
Today's the day that all the world will see
Another sunny afternoon
(I'm) walking to the sound of your favorite tune
Tomorrow never knows what it doesn't know too soon

Need a little time to wake up
Need a little time to wake up wake up
Need a little time to wake up
Need a little time to rest your mind
You know you should so I guess you might as well

What's the story morning glory?
Well
(you) need a little time to wake up
Wake up well
What's the story morning glory?
Well
Need a little time to wake up
Wake up

(Cos) all your dreams are made
Now you're chained to the mirror with your razor blade
Today's the day that all the world will see
(It's) another sunny afternoon
Yeah I'm walking to the sound of my favorite tune
Tomorrow doesn't know what it doesn't know too soon

Need a little time to wake up
Need a little time to wake up
Need a little time to wake up
Need a little time to rest your mind
You know you should so I guess that you might as well

What's the story morning glory?
Well
Need a little time to wake up, wake up
Well
What's the story morning glory?
Well

Need a little time to wake up, wake up
Well
What's the story morning glory?
Well
Need a little time to wake up, wake up
Well
What's the story morning glory?
Well?
