There's something to be said for Kitchen Table Wisdom - you know, like in the old days when people sat around the kitchen table after a meal and talked about life, the universe and the meaning of it all - as well as the gossip doing the rounds in town...

Well, that's what this place is - a place to share common wisdom, thoughts and feelings about things important and unimportant, that bring us joy, laughter and happiness and that trouble, sadden, confuse and anger us ...

What I write here is what's 'real' for me. It won't always be PC or 'nice'. We're missing out on true connection and chances to grow and change because there's too little authenticity, too little honesty, too much holding back what we really feel and mean.

Welcome to my world...

I used to have a copyright claim here, but I've removed it...

Ideas don't belong to anyone -

they come to those who are receptive and are to be used for the well being of all...

I find images and movies and music all over the web

and I use them to accent/expand on my thoughts and understandings...

10 Things To Do Before I Die

1:    Spend two weeks with all four of my children all in one place, somewhere warm and sunny on the ocean, enjoying new sights, sounds, smells, food, music and adventures - something special for the memory banks...

Ellen

Sarah
Callum

Connor

2:   See, live, up close and personal, with my own two eyes, both the Aurora Borealis and the Aurora Australis

Aurora Australis
Aurora Borealis

3:   Spend all day at a spa, luxuriating in a head-to-toe treatment

4:       Go back to university, take only courses I am interested in and finish my degree

5:      I've walked on glass, next thing is to walk over burning coals

6:      Spend time in Venice, Istanbul and the Greek islands

7:     Have a face to face conversation with Oprah and Bill Gates about life, the universe and the meaning of it all!   (They might not like what I have to say!)

8:     Give away everything I own

9:    Meet a real live (friendly) alien in 3D!

10:   Start and run the Purple Dove Foundation to raise billions of dollars that'll be used to educate about and eradicate domestic violence and help those recovering and...
  • continue to raise my youngest prepared for the world to come;
  • stand strong in my truth and faith;
  • keep planting seeds with no attachment to the outcome;
  • move through the rest of my life with an open heart, flowing with love, compassion, ease, dignity and grace:

"Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books that are now written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer." - Rainer Maria Rilke

And in all of this, I ask that Thy Will, not my will, be done...

  1. I was kinda worried that my list was really not very imaginative... and it really was hard to come up with the 10 items... I guess the material, 3D world is not so important to me - I'm more interested in relationship... and doing, rather than having....
