There's something to be said for Kitchen Table Wisdom - you know, like in the old days when people sat around the kitchen table after a meal and talked about life, the universe and the meaning of it all - as well as the gossip doing the rounds in town...

Well, that's what this place is - a place to share common wisdom, thoughts and feelings about things important and unimportant, that bring us joy, laughter and happiness and that trouble, sadden, confuse and anger us ...

What I write here is what's 'real' for me. It won't always be PC or 'nice'. We're missing out on true connection and chances to grow and change because there's too little authenticity, too little honesty, too much holding back what we really feel and mean.

Welcome to my world...

I used to have a copyright claim here, but I've removed it...

Ideas don't belong to anyone -

they come to those who are receptive and are to be used for the well being of all...

I find images and movies and music all over the web

and I use them to accent/expand on my thoughts and understandings...

Occupation...

"Civil disobedience is not our problem. Our problem is civil OBEDIENCE.
Our problem is the numbers of people all over the world who have obeyed the dictates of the leaders of their governments and have gone to war, and millions have been killed because of this obedience.
Our problem is that people are obedient all over the world in the face of poverty and starvation and stupidity, and war, and cruelty.
Our problem is that people are obedient while the jails are full of petty thieves, (and) the grand thieves are running the country. That's our problem."
~ Howard Zinn
My fellow activists in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UK and everywhere...
I recommend that we all put our different foci aside temporarily, and concentrate on replicating what is going on in New York right now...  in cities all over the world!
After all - everything that we are working to change, stems from the oligarchy that has its power base (in the US) divided between Wall Street and the Capitol...

  1. Is this really happening in this country, this country with a Democracy?? What is going on? It is like Communism or a Dictatorship.
It is just shocking and very scary. Since when don't we have the right to assemble peacefully for a cause?
My friend Bob, says "we are not customers of government, we own the store" We need to remember that before we loose the store.

  2. In May, a man who organised "flash mobs" to dance at a memorial here in the US, was arrested because "dancing was not allowed" there...

  3. May the abusive treatment of the Peaceful Protesters on Wall Street be the same kind of spark to the Common Peoples movement that Stonewall was to the Gay Right's movement. May we take inspiration form our Arab brothers and sisters and see the dawning of an "American Spring." Starting in the 1970's the Oligarchial Neoliberalist power elite have systematically sterilized education of the opportunity to teach students critical thinking and develop within themselves the ability to discern immoral and abusive exercises of power. Our nation is now largely a nation of Stepford Lemmings by design. How else can one explain the limited response to the financial raping of America by the 1% who own more then 80% of the rest. The housing bubble and credit default swaps existed by governmental permit. The bail out saved the few with a false promise to help the many. For an increasing number of Americans, the balance continues to shift away from the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness as Apple now has more cash then the Federal Government, corporations post record profits and hoard more cash reserves, and unemployment is on the rise and a college degree is evolving into a promise of part time employment with no benefits. In the final analysis, we are all getting Stonewalled, and we should shake the sawdust out of our heads and raise our voices to join the courageous men and women on wall street. Take back our Constitutional right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

  4. I read that, things are getting out of control and most don't see the urgency

  5. As an empath and an outsider here, I have been feeling/seeing this coming for a long, long time... I am frustrated/impatient with how long it is taking for the embers to ignite into a roaring blaze....
