There's something to be said for Kitchen Table Wisdom - you know, like in the old days when people sat around the kitchen table after a meal and talked about life, the universe and the meaning of it all - as well as the gossip doing the rounds in town...

Well, that's what this place is - a place to share common wisdom, thoughts and feelings about things important and unimportant, that bring us joy, laughter and happiness and that trouble, sadden, confuse and anger us ...

What I write here is what's 'real' for me. It won't always be PC or 'nice'. We're missing out on true connection and chances to grow and change because there's too little authenticity, too little honesty, too much holding back what we really feel and mean.

Welcome to my world...

I used to have a copyright claim here, but I've removed it...

Ideas don't belong to anyone -

they come to those who are receptive and are to be used for the well being of all...

I find images and movies and music all over the web

and I use them to accent/expand on my thoughts and understandings...

The System - Servant or Master?

I feel sad/mad/disappointed/frustrated that so many people forget that a system - any system - only exists because people support/enable/buy into it... You take away your support and participation, and the system crumbles....

And yes, that's not as easy as it sounds - there's a lot at stake for most people.   But surely the day comes when one has to make a choice, if one wants to stay in personal integrity?

That's why I do what I do - the system has ceased to be a servant of the people; on the contrary, its our master and we are now its slaves...

That's inhuman and inhumane and I don't want that kind of future for our children...   Do you?

Depeche Mode had this to say about the Master-Servant relationship:

LYRICS:

It's a lot
It's a lot
Like life

There's a new game
We like to play you see
A game with added reality
You treat me like a dog
Get me down on my knees

We call it master and servant
We call it master and servant

It's a lot like life
This play between the sheets
With you on top and me underneath
Forget all about equality

Let's play master and servant
Let's play master and servant

It's a lot like life
And thats what's appealing
If you despise that throwaway feeling
From disposable fun
Then this is the one

Domination's the name of the game
In bed or in life
They're both just the same
Except in one you're fulfilled
At the end of the day

Let's play master and servant
Let's play master and servant

Let's play master and servant
Come on master and servant

  1. Great posting and wonderful blog! I absolutely agree. Withdraw participation from unjust systems. I'd really like to see our unions take such a principled and courageous stand.

  2. Thanks for the very kind feedback, Michael...

I too wish the unions would take this stand...

I'm not a teacher, so I have no influence in that arena... What is stopping unions from acting? As an outsider looking in, it is very, very puzzling!
